Matthew 21:23–32 Obedience from the heart

If your honest answer today is:
Lord, I've said yes, but I haven't gone.
Or even:
Lord, actually, I've been saying no.
The story isn't finished.
The field is still there.
The Father is still calling.
And you can still change your mind.
You can still go.

The Lay Leader of the Methodist Church came to share with us a Harvest Thanksgiving message based on the parable of the Sower.
There is a little ambient noise

Grace that offends our sense of fairness

Main thrust of my argument: God’s grace is not earned — it is given.

Psalm 133, Matthew 15:21-28 and Isaiah 56,1, 6-8 mesh together to share a vision of God widening the circle of inclusion.

Psalm 85 and 1 Kings 19:9-18 helps us think through what God's peace looks like.

Matthew 14 is our scripture as we see Jesus handling two situations with compassion in action.
